ReviewCarHire was built out of frustration. Tripadvisor reviews are too generic. Google reviews are about the office decor. The big booking sites show aggregate scores with no context. None of them tell you what you actually need to know before you get to the rental counter.
Location-first
Reviews are tied to specific airports and city branches — not vague brand pages. Dubrovnik Airport is different from Split Airport. We treat them that way.
No incentivised reviews
We don't take money from rental companies to boost their scores. Every review goes through basic moderation before it's published.
Detail that matters
Queue times, upsell pressure, pre-existing damage disputes, fuel policies. The stuff the brochure leaves out — that's what we want to capture.
Why we built this
Car hire is one of the last parts of travel where information asymmetry still heavily favours the supplier. Rental companies know exactly which counter tactics generate the most revenue. Travellers — especially first-timers at an unfamiliar airport — often don't know what's fair and what's a scam.
A review platform specifically built around car hire locations can shift that balance. If you can read 15 reviews from people who picked up a car at the exact same airport, from the exact same supplier, you go in knowing what to expect. That's harder to manipulate, and harder to ignore.
We cover 20,000+ locations worldwide, with a particular focus on popular tourist routes in Europe, the Balkans, and the Mediterranean — regions where car hire is essential but information is thin.
