Tokyo city pickup: immaculate from start to finish
Japanese rental culture is next-level. Car was wrapped in protective covers, staff bowed, GPS was pre-loaded with English. Couldn't fault a thing.

Budget-friendly with no hidden surprises. The Nissan Note was basic but clean, and the rental center was connected to the airport by a short shuttle. Good value for Tokyo.

Pristine cars, polite staff, and everything explained in English. The highway toll pass was included, which saved us from complex ticket machines. Japan rental culture is unmatched.

City pickup avoided Narita travel time. The compact was perfect for day trips to Hakone. English GPS worked flawlessly.

Japanese rental standards are next-level — the car was wrapped in protective covers, spotless interior, and full documentation. The GPS in English was usable but took patience to master.

Picked up from the Toyota counter instead of international brands. Staff bowed on handoff, the car was museum-quality, and the ETC card for tolls was pre-installed.

Narita Terminal 1's Europcar desk was organised and the Prius was in excellent condition with under 15,000km. The team spoke enough English to handle the contract clearly. The issue came at drop-off: the 200km daily cap had been exceeded by 34km, adding roughly ¥4,000 to the final bill. This wasn't hidden — it was in the contract — but it deserved more emphasis at pickup.
