City centre pickup on the European side. Roads are intense but manageable once you leave the centre. Hertz staff were professional, extras were pushed hard.

For such a sprawling airport, signage was good and paperwork took just 17 minutes, though the local rules on bridge toll transponders deserved a clearer written handout.

The fleet quality is excellent and our automatic Peugeot 3008 was spotless, but insurance upselling came fast and loud, with staff framing the standard package as if every Bosphorus merge ends in catastrophe.
