Sydney Airport rental pickup is usually chaos, but this was surprisingly organised. We were out in under 10 minutes and got a near-new Corolla hybrid. Cost around $286 for three days which felt fair enough.

Honestly, renting a car at Sydney Airport can be a bit of a nightmare, but Sixt made it incredibly easy for us. Pickup ran smoothly and the contract was clean, but the domestic-terminal return area got congested fast and staff looked rushed once the morning departures wave kicked in.

We rented from Hertz at Sydney Airport for a friends' road trip down the coast. The process was pretty efficient overall. We arrived at the counter around 9 AM on a Saturday and the queue moved quickly. The staff member did ask if we wanted to upgrade our insurance, which is standard, but he backed off immediately when we said no—no hard sell at all which was a relief. We got a Toyota Corolla which was clean and ran well for the whole week. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the car had a few minor scratches that we had to point out to avoid disputes later, but the staff noted them down without any fuss. Solid experience.
