Paris CDG Europcar — terminal chaos, competent pickup
Finding the rental center took longer than the actual pickup. Staff were patient with our broken French and the Peugeot was clean. Fuel-to-fuel policy explained clearly.

Paris CDG Hertz — skip the RER, rent direct
The rental center is a trek but once there, everything was efficient. Our Citroën C3 handled Paris streets well and the staff didn't oversell the insurance.

Paris city pickup: Sixt near Gare du Nord delivered
Navigating Paris traffic is its own adventure, but the Sixt pickup was slick. Car was a compact diesel — sensible choice for French toll roads.

Paris CDG Green Motion — French eco option
The electric Renault was perfect for Paris outskirts. Charging network in France is excellent. City driving not recommended.

Paris CDG Sixt — efficient desk but the excess territory needs a firm no
Terminal 2E has a slick Sixt counter and the BMW 3 Series was one of the freshest cars I've had at any French airport. The damage waiver explanation, however, went on long enough that I started timing it. Card block was €1,500 on top of the rental, clearly explained but still jarring the first time.
