No upgrade offers, no upsell pitches, just keys and a wave. Perfect for people who want to hit the road to Balos. Citroën C3 with working AC. Straightforward.

Chania Airport Firefly — budget brand, budget patience required
Queue was 40 minutes in September but staff were doing their best. Scratched-up Fiat Panda ran fine for our Samaria Gorge trip. Full-to-full, no return issues.

Chania Airport Centauro — honest Med operator on a Greek island
Shuttle was 7 minutes from terminal. Older Suzuki Swift but fully functional. Staff walked us around marking every scratch. No surprises at drop-off.

Chania Airport Zezgo — cheap, cheerful, and a bit chaotic
Deposit was €900, felt steep for €35/day. Suzuki Celerio was fine for coastal roads but struggled on the Omalos plateau climb. Upgrade if heading to the mountains.
