Editorial · Hertz · Cancun Airport

Cancun Hertz is competent if you arrive immune to the pitch

The counter was brisk and the Chevrolet Aveo acceptable, but the usual Mexico insurance theatre was fully switched on, with staff warning darkly about liability until you stood firm.

Editorial · Sixt · Cancun Airport

Cancun Sixt does the premium thing well

We collected a clean Kia Sportage in 15 minutes, all damage was marked carefully, and the branch handled an early return without fuss — rare enough here to be worth celebrating.

Editorial · Europcar · Cancun Airport

Cancun Europcar is where fuel policy arguments go on holiday

A prepaid-fuel recommendation turned into a near-insistence, and the eventual return check fixated on the gauge even though the refuel receipt was timestamped 18 minutes before drop-off.

Editorial · Alamo · Cancun

Drove five minutes from the hotel strip to pick up from Alamo's city branch. Saved 30% versus the airport rate for the identical car class. Simple trick.
