Kardamena Zezgo — price leader with conditions

The headline rate was unbeatable, but we spent 20 minutes declining extras and the deposit hold was higher than expected. Car was fine, just be prepared for the desk routine.

Corfu Airport Zezgo — Greek island value

Local operator with competitive rates. The Hyundai i20 was basic but ran well on island roads. Watch the deposit.

Rhodes Airport Zezgo — Dodecanese drive

Cheapest option but high deposit hold. Car was functional for a week of island exploring. Bring patience.

Antalya Airport Zezgo — rock-bottom price, read the fine print

Cheapest by far but deposit was €1,200 and they insisted on their excess insurance. Older car with 80,000km ran fine. Not for the risk-averse traveller.

Chania (Crete Island), Greece

Chania Airport Zezgo — cheap, cheerful, and a bit chaotic

Deposit was €900, felt steep for €35/day. Suzuki Celerio was fine for coastal roads but struggled on the Omalos plateau climb. Upgrade if heading to the mountains.
