Albanian car hire can feel unpredictable but Europcar was straightforward. Fiat Tipo handled Tirana's chaotic traffic competently. Take photos of every panel.

Agent flagged a pothole zone on SH2 motorway and recommended avoiding night driving outside cities. In Albania, local knowledge like that is genuinely valuable.

Rinas Airport is intimate. Sixt's desk was clearly marked and functional. Hyundai i20 was adequate for coastal drives to Vlorë. €600 deposit refunded promptly.

The hybrid was a mild-hybrid with minimal fuel savings on mountains. Friendly staff but off-airport shuttle was confusing at 11pm. Car was clean though.
