Denver Airport Thrifty — mile-high efficiency

Winter pickup and the team had snow tyres ready. The Ford Escape handled I-70 mountain passes without issue. Thrifty's reputation for hidden fees proved unfounded this time.

Renting for a ski trip and Enterprise had AWD options ready. Staff asked about our destination and recommended tyre chains we didn't end up needing but appreciated the offer.

Denver Airport Dollar — altitude-ready but pushy on insurance

The Chevy Equinox handled I-70 mountain grades fine, but the counter staff pushed extra coverage hard enough that we felt like we were buying a car, not renting one.
